Innocent. Blameless. Pure. Heartbroken. Josie Vos belonged to the one family I hated more than anything.

And I had forced her to despise me just as much.

It didn’t matter that I had lost track of my plan and fallen for my enemy.

Irrevocably hurt and enraged by my deceit, she had no intentions of doing anything but watching me lose my throne.

The secrets of our families can never be forgotten.

I knew that from the beginning, but I refuse to allow the sins of our families to determine our future.

I should have left her alone and let her hate me.
I didn’t.

I was going to fight for her, even if she now held all the power.

After the way things ended in the first book I was literally on my knees anxiously awaiting for the conclusion of Josie and Beck's story!! As soon as this landed on my kindle. Game over, Life turned off, and I dived in, god this book threw so many intense, stabby, angsty moments at me, my nerves were wrung dry.

I didn't know how or what Beck would or even could do to make it up to Josie, the betrayal cut to the quick and I knew that these two had a rocky road to travel to get to that HEA I was hoping they would reach.

“𝗛𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗱, 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 , 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴.”

Josie just wanted to finish up with her schooling and get what she deserved and to move on with her life away from the Bay and the boy who destroyed her heart. Beck wasn't about to allow that to happen he was remorseful and hell bent on wining back the one female which got under his skin and into his heart.

This duet ticked so many boxes of mine, I loved this journey the author took me on and I can't wait to see what she brings us next. This is definitely a must read.

I was still the villain in her story too, but I would either fall or rise at her hand alone. She had the power to destroy me if she wanted. She held all the power, and I was completely at her mercy.

Oh what a drama filled conclusion this was. Was it too much at times? Sure. Did I care? Not even a little. I loved the long grovel and I loved that Josie finally grew a backbone in this book. Though she was still a bit of a slave to her hormones. Can't say I blame the girl though.

I loved the way that Beck fought for her. He fucked up EPICALLY. And I mean bad. I didn't know how Josie could ever move on from what he did, but I couldn't wait to see how it all unfolded.

There was plenty of drama to be had from Cami, who I was very much over by the end of the book. But the plot twists were pretty delicious.

Overall a very satisfying conclusion to the duet. Now onto my favorite manwhore Carson and his hate/lust with Allie.

After finishing Touch Of A Villain, I needed this book ASAP! Beck and Josie were in this cat and mouse game that as much as we tried to close our eyes and ignore it, consequences were waiting for them around the corner and it was not going to be good. At all.

After the cliffhanger that drove us to drink, the story picked up with the aftermath of Beck's doing and let me tell you, it was rough. With Josie trying to pick up the pieces and move on, life for these two families became even more complicated and vengeful. Secrets, lies and scandals are more at the forefront for these two high school seniors and just when you think that things are going to work out, another bombshell rocks the dynamic and eradicates any progress that was being made.

I really loved the evolution between the main characters and you felt everything that they were going through. Josie knew her worth and she was not afraid to voice her opinions on anything. I really liked that she didn't rush into anything when it came to Beck and she stood her ground on something that was important to her. Beck was this cocky arrogant guy who only cared about one thing and it was very interesting to see how that very same thing, changed his entire being. He grew as a person, you witnessed the heartache that his actions caused, and you saw him fight to get back the only thing that mattered to him.

From revenge to love, to betrayal to forgiveness, Fall Of God will take you on a rollercoaster journey with some guaranteed twists and turns.

AHHHH!! I have been DYING for the conclusion to Josie and Beck's story since that crazy shocking ending in book one. I was so invested in their story and have become obsessed with how Holly Renee would repair all the open wounds as a result of Beck's actions. After reading I can honestly say this book was an amazing conclusion to this duet.  Beck and Josie more than delivered and then some!

This story was sexy and addicting and so consuming. I could not stop reading as I was glued to every word. Josie's fire was my favorite aspect of this book. Her rage and anger were the stuff dreams were made of. Likewise, Beck's grovel and remorse for his actions was palpable. I felt his emotions so deeply and was hooked on his perspective. The author did an amazing job making us really feel Beck and Josie's emotions.

While I loved how Renee allowed us deep into the heads and hearts of our protagonists, I did feel like the internal monologue during certain scenes was a drawback and a distraction at times. While in Josie or Beck's heads, some scenes seemed long-winded and drawn out as we (the reader) were "told" so much about how they were feeling vs "shown" . I would have loved to see more of it in front of us in the form of spitfire banter and much needed back and forth. Furthermore, while I loved being in both their heads and given honest insight of their respective feelings, sometimes it took me out of the scene as it felt almost repetitive each chapter.

Overall, this was a solid duet and I am way invested in this series. The author also did an outstanding job setting up future books in the Clermont Bay series! 4 stars! ~Ratula

This was enemies to lovers perfection!! The groveling was epic, the outcome of the conflict was perfect, and...

Holly Renee really said I’m going to make you love Beck more than before. And the steam. My GODDDD. The. Steam. Is it normal to be jealous of a fictional heroine?

I need more from this world ASAP!

The conclusion to Josie and Beck's story.

Full of redundant monologues is what this book was. "The Fall of a God" picks up after Beck's betrayal, who is now on a mission to win back Josie. There's absolutely no action or plot in this book so it will feel slow.

Instead, it reads like a diary. Beck continuously berates himself for being such an idiot and tries to apologize to Josie for his DUMB revenge plan. There is NO "grand" groveling or gesture from him. Beck was pitiful and pathetic.

Then, you have Josie repeatedly telling herself that she must stay away from Beck because she's not a pushover. She tries hyping herself up that she's some strong independent woman yet sounds so bitter throughout the first ~60%...and rightfully so, but her mistrust in Beck is all she talks about.

The characters were not thoroughly developed and the relationship felt bland. At one point Beck even says he barley knows Josie but confesses that he's in love with her.

There's MINOR side drama that involved Lucas and Josie's father that didn't feel resolved. They just get to carry on with their lives huh??

Overall: MOSTLY tell than show. Josie and Beck's story could have been 1 book but instead was dragged on.

he would fall, and they would realize that he had never been untouchable

The cliffy at the end of book one left me wanting to know how the story would progress. The beginning of book two takes up where the action was interrupted. So Josie is picking up her broken pieces, after Beck betrayed her trust there is no going back. Her father, who was never a supportive caring parent to begin with, is intent on making her life hell, he threatens her so that she will bend to his will. Beck is set on making up for his poor behaviour, he’s still sure he can win counting on his charm and attractive allure.

I must say the first part of the story was a repetition of the same events and dialogue, I was worried this second book was just a page filler with no purpose. I wasn’t captured by the plot, the characters kept saying the same things over and over. Thankfully the story picked up towards the second part. The tale became interesting, I could appreciate the progress in the story, the narrative tempo improved and the writing flew capturing my attention keeping it till the very end.

I wasn’t the girl they thought I was. I wasn’t the girl to roll over simply because they thought they had won

I like Josie, she’s strong willed with a backbone to match, she has a big heart, she cares for all the people close to her, she doesn’t let anyone influence her opinion, she befriends Frankie without being victim of prejudice or silly family hate. She’s very mature and understands that a person is an individual regardless of what blood he belongs to or name he carries. As the victim of prejudice herself, she isn’t bitter, however she’s not someone to be manipulated or pushed around, she knows her worth and is not afraid to fight for her happiness, or to go against the so called popular people.

You didn’t make a mistake … You made a choice, and you need to man the fuck up and deal with it

Beck has a lot to learn from his mistakes. He’s full of anger, he acts recklessly and without thinking, although some of his decisions may appear justified he never stops to consider all parts involved or those his actions will affect, needless to say, he’s not ready to face the consequences. He needs to admit defeat then he has to learn to pick his battle, he needs to grow up. Despite his childish side, he is loyal, fiercely protective, his persona stands up on solid values and he tries to do the right thing.

you are mine whether you know it or not, and I hate that I need to remind you of that fact

I liked that both Josie and Beck progressed in the story, their behaviour evolved and they became a better grown up version of their younger selves. In all their push and pull the steamy moments didn’t disappoint, these two have a chemistry to last for a lifetime and the author makes the reader feel exactly how deep and how strong it is. I also liked how the main characters interacted with their friends and family, the banter and moments among friends were a nice addition to the story, they also offered a glimpse into potential future couples and their stories. At this point I must say I would really like to read more of the Clermont Bay adventures.

“She had the power to destroy me if she wanted. She held all the power, and I was completely at her mercy.”

WOW! If I thought the first book of this series was phenomenal , this second one blow my mind in the best possible way.

Now it’s all about forgiveness ,letting each other in , and so many hot moments 🔥.

“He thought he was a God, untouchable , indestructible, but I was going to prove him wrong “

Josie is a strong woman , trying to show the rest of the city that she didn’t care. That she wasn’t affected by what happened. But was it true?

She just wanted to finish school and start her life far away from that bay and from the guy who destroyed her from the inside.

Back on the other hand was set on win Josie back , no matter what. He didn’t care about anyone opinion other than Josie’s . He just had to find a way to make her understand, and see the real him.

“Josie was my lucky shot. She was my one real chance at something pure and good and beautiful, and I would never have her”

Their journey wasn’t easy , it was full of angst , resentment and some pretty hot and sweet moments.

We also got to see more about Frankie , and I can’t wait for her story.

I loved so much the fact that we really got to see what they really feel .The feelings that are in this book are just all around the place. It was a never ending rollercoaster of emotions. I’m so happy I discovered this author .

“The rest of the world was speeding past us, and all I could care about was him.”

I’m sure this is just the start of some amazing and explosive stories.

I can’t wait for all of you to read this one.

I gave it 5 stars

Star Rating : 4.5/5 Stars

POV : Dual

Cliffhanger : None

Hero : Beck

Heroine : Josie

Pace of the story : Moderate

Angst Rating : 6/10

Heat Rating : 6/10

Triggers Involved : Past trauma

Plot Summary :
Beck has always been entranced by Josie. That is until the moment he knew that she was the one person he had to destroy to gain his revenge. And that is what he did. He knew she never deserved it but now it was too late because the one person who saw him beyond his wealth and looks was the same one who hated him now. And there is nothing he could do to change her mind because he deserved it all.

Josie believed Beck when he changed. She thought that they were something more than enemies for once only to realise that it had all been another ruse. She got played by him just so he could take revenge on her step brother and that was what hurt her the most.

Overall Opinion :
Omg , After that cliffhanger ending of the first book I just wanted this installment so bad! I am finally satisfied to know what happens ahead and to see Beck and Josie get the happily ever after they had always deserved. Yes , Beck messed up and I was happy to see that he grovelled for it. I hate when the h just has one look at the H’s face and forgives him because he is so hot! Nothing is more annoying than that. But however , that was not the case in this book.

It was amazing with a killer ending that just made me more crazy for the upcoming books and the other characters! I hope they all get their books because I am so excited for them! Highly recommended to all the High school bully romance loving people.

AVAILABLE!!!!

"The last time I kissed him, I thought that I was falling for him.
This time I knew that I would never allow myself to fall for him again."

The truth is that I was anticipating this book after how things ended on the first part...
I liked where the story led us and I liked how Beck tried to right his wrongdoings to Josie...
In here, both of them had matured and it was showing...
And of course, Mrs. Renee made me crave some other potential couples and their stories very much...

"His touch was catactrophic, and I knew that it was specifically designed to destroy me."

Well, things picked up exactly from where they left us on "The touch of a villain"... Josie is trying to pick up her broken pieces after Beck's betrayal and she is determined to get over him and never forgivehim for the way he played her...
But Beck is determined to not let her go, even though he knows that he has a very long road ahead of him with major grovelling to do, in order to not lose her forever!!!
Things between them are complicated and they have many obstacles to overcome in order to be together!!!

"I was just a pawn in his game. The lethal piece he needed for his fucked up sense of revenge."

"I had accompliced what I had set out to do. I had ruined Josie Vos's life, and she fucking hated me for it."

The thing is that things are not always as they seemed to be and our heroes will learn that part on the hard way...
In here, truths are revealing, lies are uncovering and things are changing drastically for both Beck and Josie...
In here, they will realize which is a true friend and who is been set to backstab them...
Reality is cruel and things are about to change for everyone...

"You already wrecked me. But that's what you do, isn't it? You just fucking wreck people."

"I'm not the guy you want me to be."

I loved Beck and Josie. There was some serious chemistry between them...
I liked how strongwilled Josie was and that she didn't let anyone to step upon her, not even Beck, even though he was holding pieces of her heart...
The truth is that the ending of the previous book left me unsure of how I was feeling about Beck. But in here, he proved to both me and Josie that he was so much more than he was appearing to be... I loved how determined he was to win Josie back and to be forgiven for his sins toward her... I loved that he didn't hesistate to bow in front of her in order to show his remorse...

"He was impossible to hide from. Impossible to escape."

"You are mine whether you know it or not, and I hate that I need to remind you of that fact."

Well, it was a lovely conclusion to a wonderful story!!!
I might needed a little bit something and a little bit more angst, but I really enjoyed this story as it was...
I can't wait of more of this world that Holly Renee had created in here.

"How could I love someonw who could hurt me so easily?"

An intensely passionate, YA, second chance romance that will have you feeling all of the emotions. Josie and Beck love hard but getting them there will be challenging. Their relationship is forbidden and both families have their secrets. Getting their HEA will be an uphill battle. Good thing Beck loves a challenge.

Book two picks up right where book one left us hanging. Beck was consumed by his revenge and he let it lead him down a path of his own destruction. Now that he’s lost everything, he realizes how badly he screwed up. It’s time for redemption.

Josie is hurt and feels betrayed. She wants to hate him, but her body hasn’t gotten the memo. Staying away from the guy that destroyed her will be impossible when the pull between them is so strong. Forgiving him may end up being the only way to get her own happiness.

This story is angsty and full of twists with jaw-dropping secrets. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions as Beck and Josie found their way. The chemistry ignites and these two could burn the house down. Their connection was beautifully complicated. The side characters each piqued my interest. The author created a family of characters who I want more of. Each has their own story to tell and I cannot wait for more.

Review – The Fall of a God (The Boys of Clermont Bay #2) by Holly Renee

What an emotionally intense and addictive story…and I loved every minute of it! This is what I look for in a romance book. No question this is Holly’s best book to date! I was held captive throughout this entire story and never wanted it to end. The intensity in this novel is extraordinary and can’t be matched. The chemistry between Beck and Josie is pure FIRE. Holly has perfected the art of push and pull and steamy sexual chemistry that is sure to leave you a mess! I will never be over this story!
.
The Fall of a God picks up right where The Touch of a Villain leaves off. Upon learning of Beck’s betrayal Josie is left to pick up the pieces on her own and Beck is scrambling trying to clear his name and gain back all that he lost with Josie, and she does not make it easy on him. Josie is so strong and feisty! She literally takes shit from NO ONE especially Beck and boy does she ever make him work for it. Josie knows Beck is no good for her, their toxic together, but does her body know that? (y’all ain’t ready for the locker room scene!)
.
"𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚." 𝙄 𝙧𝙖𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙟𝙖𝙬 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙠. "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙚. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙨 𝙄'𝙢 𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪."
.
If you love a hero who grovels, then look no further. I’m in love with Beck, he is perfection. He never gives up his pursuit of getting Josie back and although there were a few moments where he couldn’t control himself, he knows Josie wanted it just as bad as he did. We learn so much more about Beck and Josie and when all the secrets finally come to head will Josie and Beck be able to overcome it all?
.
Side note the tension between Olly (Becks best friend) & Frankie (Becks little sister) gave me butterflies (their my FAV I call them Holly!)❤️ Oh & these covers are my fav of ALL time! Sergio is everything!

I don’t know about you guys, but ever since finishing The Touch of a Villain, I have been dying to find out what would happen next for Josie and Beck. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Author Holly Renee delivered one heck of a ride that left me devouring The Fall of a God….

The Fall of a God picks up right where The Touch of a Villain left off. Josie is left to deal with the aftermath of the events of the last book. She’s hurt, confused, and can’t stop wanting the one guy she should stay away from. She has every right to be furious, but I promise you, what happened isn’t completely black and white. Yes, when it comes to Beck and Josie, there is a lot of hurt and gray area to get past, but I promise their story is totally worth the crazy ride it takes you.

The Fall of a God is filled with lies, betrayal, and hot, hot, hot moments. What happened with Josie and Beck will have you all twisted in knots. There is so much hurt, distrust, and will they/won’t they moments. But, I have to say, Beck really stepped it up. Yes, there were still moments where I wanted to throat punch him, but he owned his mistakes and worked hard to fix them. His actions when it came to Josie might not always have been smart ones, but in the end, his feelings were genuine and left this reader wanting to know how things would fall into place in the end.

Once I started reading The Fall of a God, I couldn’t stop. I had to know what would happen next and was completely unprepared for the twists and revelations that would come. If you’re looking for a book that will consume you, that’s filled with twists, lies, and betrayal, that has great characters and a romance that will frustrate you, yet have you rooting for a happily ever after, then this is a book you won’t want to miss. The Fall of a God hit all the marks for me and was everything I was hoping for in a follow-up to The Touch of a Villain. I truly enjoyed this story and hope this won’t be the last that we see of these characters and the boys of Clermont Bay!

Well, I have so many complaints about the story but I can't rant about everything because some of them would contain spoilers.
I want to start with the whole mess between Frankie and Lucas. It's still not clear to me how a serious matter was just brushed over so easily. Lucas didn't face any consequences at all and that has fucking enraged me. Frankie's parents act all protective towards her but they were cowards when it came to fighting with Lucas and his dad and their reason was that "Mr Vos ran their town" and he could destroy their buisness. Seriously they were pathetic and then making them being good parents in the end.... I did not buy that at all.
Also, I seriously don't like whatever is going on between Carson & Allie. The way Carson keeps parading girls in Allie's face and the way she just acts jealous is giving me doormat vibes already. I don't know if people think their banters are cute but for me they were pathetic. I hope their book would reveal something unexpected and redeem Carson's character.
Next i want to talk about (the OW) Cami. I knew something didn't add up about her needing Beck's help for keeping her secret with a teacher but I didn't expect the revelation and quite frankly, that whole mess is what made me add another star to my review.
Throughout book one, it was said that Cami helped Frankie get over her trauma and they were very good friends but it was just telling rather than showing. Cami and Beck keep talking about how she helped Frankie but Frankie didn't talk about it at all which obviously showed that Cami wasn't as important to Frankie as Beck thought she was.
Now, let's talk about Beck and Josie. I didn't feel their connection from the first book itself and in this one, I couldn't understand how and when did they grow to love each other? Honestly Beck had more connection with Cami and he made such fucking stupid decisions which led me to believe that he cares more about Camie than Josie. The conversations between Beck and Cami were pointless and I had to force myself to focus on that because at that point, I just wanted to finish the book.
Overall, I want to ask, what was even the point of this book? It just revolved around the constant back and forth between Beck and Josie rather than facing the main conflict of the plot. The story could have been summed up in one book instead. There was no need to write book two with the same repititions. The epilogue didn't give me closure at all. It was so unclear and confusing. I wanted to see whether Josie went to college, did Beck handle the buisness or did she visit her mother's house but it was like all those parts just vanished. I'm just disappointed smh.

BECK will always and forever be BAE!! The conclusion to Josie and Beck’s story was everything that I had hoped it would be and honestly so so much more. Lets just say I WASN’T PREPARED!!! Holly’s way of writing her characters brings such life to them and the story she tells is out of this world. Everything they go through, everything they feel you will feel as the reader. You are immersed into their world and you cant help but fall in love. Holly gives you everything the angst, the feels, the emotions, the SPICE!!! Our main characters are fantastic but Holly also has this way of bringing in all the side characters and giving them such life as well which enhances you reading experience so much more. Josie and Beck fully complete one another. 1000000 STARS absolute must read and I cant wait for us to get more stories from The Boys of Clermont Bay!!!

Honestly, this could have just been cut down and put in book one. While there were a few surprises here, nothing really happened. Just Beck chasing Josie to get her back and Josie not making up her mind on what she wanted.

What I did like was that the ending was cute and I'm glad that we got moments to actually see them as a couple.

The next book is about Carson and Allie and I'm curious to see what's keeping them from being together.

Deliciously angsty, full of teenage angst and complicated emotional tension, and with ample sweet and swoon- this is an epic finale! Beck is my favorite all time Holly book boyfriend- by far the most compelling and captivating hero she's written, and I'm not ready to let him go, but she gives him the perfect story. Beck owns me, and I am so addicted to the world and characters of this duet- this is Holly’s best work to date.

Also Holly's hottest book yet. SERIOUSLY. We have so much amazing chemistry- but the angry banter, the intensity, the draw between these two is so visceral. When they are together they sizzle. They make each other FEEL. They have their loud moments, but it is the quiet moments between them that are magic- that show how special they are. Josie finally opens up and lets others in- learning to be vulnerable and lean on people, hard after she lost her mom but even harder after what Beck did, she's been burned for trusting. And Beck learns to let go of his anger-as he contemplates if he can be selfless and operate from love instead of hate- but his revenge is at tension with his desire to find a way back to Josie. The god will fall, but is it too late?

This is a story about emotional confrontation- both Josie and Beck are confronting their issues with each other and their other baggage to- Josie’s grief and loneliness, her walls. And Beck facing his anger, facing that his revenge is actually selfish. Through their tensions, fighting, push and pull, we get to see them subtly start to evolve. I loved watching Josie both confide in people and open up. We see her start to live- and we also see her get more fierce. Stand-up for herself. Refuse to be the victim of these men’s vendetta. And, we see Beck OWN his shit. Make a sacrifice, admit his wrong doings, give up his power. And in doing so , they also grow together.

I wasn’t sure if Beck could repair my broken heart, but somehow Holly made me fall even more deeply in love with him. the heartbreaking bad boy is doing all the groveling, and I am here for it. While he can’t take back his slew of misguided anger-catalyzed decisions, he can make up for them- and Josie makes him work for it. And work he does- most importantly, he works on his heart. He confronts his demons and he resolves to be the man that is worthy of forgiveness- this isn’t hearts and flowers, this is a boy figuring out how to be a man. Josie really found herself in this conclusion- all the heartache, betrayal, and pain prove to be a catalyst for her figuring out who she is, and for her finally having the fortitude to demand better from all those that have hurt her- Beck included. She longs for Beck, is almost desperate to capture the glimmer of emotional connection that she finally found in him, but she also can’t trust him, even if she wants to. I loved watching this lonely, closed up girl find herself and open her heart while being at her very lowest.

Needless to say, I’m obsessed with this world and I NEED more. (PLEASE GIVE ME FRANKIE AND OLLY!). Holly gives us much fire with so much heart, with two beautifully broken souls finding peace and healing in a person who finally sees their true heart- and it while it is dramatic until the very last, their story is also dreamy.

"He was going to fall at my hands, he would plummet from this position the others at this schoolo had afforded him, and I was going to take back every ounce of my heart he stole for me."

Ahhh this book was everything I needed in the follow up to the first book in the Boys of Clermont Bay series. Luckily, we picked up right after the cliffhanger from that ending, and continue on our journey with Beck and Josie dealing with the fall out from Beck's actions. And oh how I loved Josie in this one as she had such a strong backbone and made Beck work so hard for forgiveness. She really put him through his paces and maintained her sense of identity along the way. And I loved that Beck also gradually realized the error of his ways and how much he hurt the one girl that was perfect for him just to get back at her family. He really had to grow up and change in order to be worthy of his girl and I was here for his redemption story. And the chemistry between them was scorching (especially in the locker room). I also loved the groundwork for the other characters (and hopefully additional books). Don't miss out on this amazing conclusion to Josie and Beck's story!

The book is called "The Fall of a God" but I think Holly Renee wrote about rise of a book boyfriend here. Welcome to young love angst, drama, heartbreak, swoon and oh so good steamy moments. This book is for those romance readers who need their bad boy heroes to have a good heart, dirty ways and the ability to grovel when needed. This book is for those romance readers who love the sweet heroine to bite and burn.

This books is the second book of Beck and Josie and must be read in order. The big question is: did Josie Vos make a mistake for trusting Beck Clermont with her body and heart? The boy who is their family nemesis and wants revenge on father and who has demolished her reputation by posting certain private video online. But Beck is adamant that he didn't do it and he is ready to do anything to prove himself. He is falling for the enemy and Josie isn't ready to forgive him.

Now this is what I call proper redemption of a crooked bad boy. Beck may have started his relationship with Josie for games but this innocent and pure and kind girl stole his heart. And he cannot punish her for sins of her family who doesn't even care for her. And our boy did so good! Well done, Beck, well done. He relentlessly pursued her and unleashed the lethal mix of his swoony gestures and filthy seduction on Josie. And our girl did even better! She didn't let her guard downs easily and made Beck work for it..but not to the extent that she comes across a nagging b1tch. She didn't judge him by one bad decision. She saw the over protective, caring and amazing guy inside. And the enemies to lovers heat and tension was on point. You know the feeling of " I cannot live without you but I cannot decide if I should f*ck you or kill you"...the author brought that delicious friction so well. This story had some great twists and turns that kept the story interesting and engaging.

The Fall of A God by Holly Renee was everything expected and unexpected in an enemies to lovers romance.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

"I had set fire to everything that we were, everything that we could have been, with the hopes of destroying her family. But the only thing I managed to destroy was her. I destroyed her and my own damn heart at the exact same time."- The Touch Of A Villain, The Boys Of Clermont Bay, By Holly Renee

"The rest of the world was speeding past us, and all I could care about was him."

"I love her, and I will do whatever I have to, to protect her."- The Fall Of A God, The Boys Of Clermont Bay, By Holly Renee

These are the first two books in the Boys Of Clermont Bay series by Holly Renee. This was Beck and Josies story. And their story was everything I needed right now. It was an angsty, high-school prep, bully romance. I needed it and it checked all the boxes.

Beck grew up in Clermont Bay. He has his friends and his family there. Josie is not born and bred in Clermont Bay. Her father, Joseph Vos, is another big name there with lots of money, just like Becks Dad. But Josie doesn't know her father. He has never been around. It isn't until her mother passes that she is forced to move in with his new family. Against all her wishes.

Beck and her don't start off on the wrong foot. They are actually very intrigued by each other. Until Beck finds out she is a Vos. Her stepbrother Lucas and him despise each other. Lucas is the ultimate douchebag not gonna lie. Lol Becks feelings change quickly when he realizes who Josie is and starts using her as a pawn in his revenge game. Man, he makes me mad, lol. But Josie stands up and handles herself so well. I absolutely love her character. But before Beck knows it, he starts regretting his original plan to destroy Josie... and feelings start changing. 👀 I loved every second and that ending in book two!!!! Omg! Didn't see it coming!

I can't wait to read the rest of the series! @authorhollyrenee #thetouchofavillain #thefallofagod #boysofclermontbay #hollyrenee #booksandchatswithnickib

Nope

This is the second book of the series and the final book of Beck and Josie’s chapter.

I didn’t have high hopes after reading Book 1 and truthfully, I’m glad I didn’t have any high hopes. I think between bath books, it’s supposed to be a combination of a bully romance with an enemies to lover trope, but it was very all over place.

Between both books, you don’t really understand Josie’s hatred for her father and she seems to forgive Beck too easily for hurting her. And despite all the drama pertaining to Beck’s ex Cami, she seems to let the drama slide when she finds out Beck spent the night with her after announcing her as his girlfriend.

There’s so much drama in these two books:
- drama between Beck and Cami
- drama between Beck and Lucas
- drama between Mr. Clermont and Mr. Vos
- drama between Cami and Josie
- drama between Josie and Mr. Vos
- drama between Josie and Lucas
- drama between Frankie and Lucas

I think this could have been condensed into one book and been stronger as a book if it had more depth and plot development. The characters all come way too emotional and one dimensional. And there was too much going on with the plot to really fully enjoy this.

Oh wow.. the second book in the Boys of Clermont Bay was even better than the first! I absolutely adored every single page of it! It kicks straight off where the first one finished and gets straight back in to the drama.

I loved the evolution and development of the characters and their relationship. Josie and Beck both grew so much during this book and it was so lovely to read.

God, Beck! He was just so swoon worthy but also brooding and had a dark edge to him. I loved how he softened as the story evolved and he grew to love Josie. It was just the best!

And Josie.. she dealt with so much betrayal from those closest to her but handled it amazingly and was so strong. She was a brilliant character too!

I honestly love this series and can’t wait for more books to come! This one definitely set it up for some more stories with the side characters and I’m so excited for an announcement about them! 💓

I LOVE BECK!! There I said it. I thought that I loved him before but Holly took that love to the next level, and dare I say I might be a little obsessed with him. This book took Beck and Josie on a journey that I was not prepared for. These two are so much more than you could ever have anticipated, and I could not put them down.

Ever since A Touch of A Villain I have been eagerly waiting for their conclusion, and Holly did not disappoint. It’s rare to find an author that not only creates something that will keep you utterly and thoroughly entertained and enthralled, but she created side characters that you are dying to know more about. Each one of the people introduced in these books has a charisma and energy all on their own, but not enough to overshadow the main characters.

The Touch of a Villain was my first book by Holly and I am so freaking glad that I found her, she’s never going to be able to get rid of me, because I am infatuated with her words. Holly’s books will grip you by your heart and squeeze until you can’t breathe. The Steam. The Side Characters. The Emotions. Every Single thing about them is PERFECTION!!
